If balloon boy was a hoax, why is it still dominating news?

CBS Radio just led hourly newscast with two angles on balloon boy, then went on to health care and Afghanistan. CNN has been almost walk- to-wall on balloon boy, of course playing up the sheriff's comment that the family's interview with Wolf Blitzer was the first big indication that the family was faking it. Yes, give Blitzer credit for the probing questions that prompted Falcon to say he hid from people calling his name because his parents told him it was "for the show."

But isn't it enough already? These people have used up their 15 minutes of fame.
